Our Team
About Us
We are TBD 18140, a community based team from Friendswood TX. This is our 4th year as a team. We currently have 12 team members, ranging from grade 7th to grade 12.
One of the most significant things about our team is the friendship that we share. We aren’t just a robotics team, we are a close group of friends who do robotics. We love to hang out and do fun things outside of the robot. We hosted an intro to robotics class where we recruited new members. We also coach 3 FLL-Challenge Teams and 3 FLL-Explore Teams. Those teams are fully student led.
Pictured to the right is our PowerPlay robot, Thomas. We decided on this name because our logo is a lightning bolt and we wanted to name our robot after a scientist. We named him after Thomas Edison. Our mascot is a turtle named Edison. Our first project solution was "Save the Sea Turtles" in FLL. We have taken a turtle stuffed animal to every competition since our first year in FLL. We continued to bring the turtle to our competitions even after moving into FTC.
